Ride into History

You are invited to join us for a casual 15 mile bike ride into history October 9, 2022, a Path Through History event! Stops on the ride feature the historic Erie Canal, including Locks 21 and 22, and the aqueduct in Rexford. We will visit other sites like the Vischer Ferry Historic District and a portion of the original Erie Canal Towpath to Lock 7 Dam on today’s Erie Canal.

This is a Path Through History event!

Meet at the historic Grooms Tavern and be ready to depart at 1 PM. Town historian John Scherer will provide commentary. Refreshments will be served on route. Everyone is welcome and helmets are required for all riders.

This fun and free event is sponsored by the Town of Clifton Park and the Friends of the Mohawk Towpath Byway. If you have additional questions contact the Clifton Park Parks and Recreation Department at 518-371-6667 during weekday business hours.

This is a great event to obtain your first fifteen mile credit toward your Canalway Challenge goal!
